Are you using the right tools for your risk assessment? For many intelligence analysts, a key issue when conducting research ahead of a security risk assessment is being overwhelmed by too much information that is irrelevant to the task at hand. Finding a way to filter out unnecessary data - so that you can quickly understand the situation in the area you’re interested in, without missing vital information - is therefore an important part of your process. One of the most popular features of our threat intelligence platform is the ability to geofence a particular location, so that you only see the data that is relevant to that specific area - so how best to use this? We've put together a series of use cases to demonstrate how and why to use geofencing to enhance your security risk assessment. Read it now: https://hubs.ly/Q02sdNKt0 #riskassessment #travelrisk #securityprofessionals #intelligenceanalysts #corporatesecurity

Environmental protesters have launched a week of action in London, which is likely to lead to disruption and vandalism. Youth Demand is a new environmental activist group that is connected to Just Stop Oil, and, reportedly, Palestine Action. The group campaigns for an end to new coal, gas and drilling licences in the UK, as well as a two-way arms embargo into Israel. The week of action will take place across London, between 7th and 11th April, with the main actions set to take place today, Monday 8th April, and Thursday 11th April. The group have stated that the action will include marches, blockades and occupations. Activists have already sprayed red paint at the Labour Party's head office, stating that Labour 'has blood on their hands' by being 'complicit in the murder of Palestinians, and millions of people around the world'. Reports suggest that Tube stations could also be targeted in the action. Youth Demand is the latest in a long line of climate change and environmental activist groups taking direct action across Europe. Groups such as Extinction Rebellion, Last Generation, and Just Stop Oil are carrying out protests that can have a substantial impact on business operations, even for organisations not being directly targeted. At Intelligence Fusion, in addition to tracking and mapping these incidents both as they happen and ahead of time, we also provide granular intelligence tools so that our clients benefit from more in-depth analysis from our threat intelligence platform. This includes themes identified by our analysts, which allow users to more easily track related incidents, such as terrorism, far-right extremism, or, in this case, climate change and environmental activism. As Houthi attacks on shipping continue to impact global trade, how long might the Red Sea crisis continue? Since November 2023, the Yemen-based Houthi group have been targeting civilian shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, around the Bab al Mandeb strait. Numerous ships, both civilian and military, have been targeted. As a result, with ships now forced to transit around Africa via the Cape of Good Hope rather than use the Suez Canal, a route which once carried 15% of global commerce is down by around 70% - with container shipping reportedly dropping by around 90%. So what are the group's capabilities? Have they been impacted by US and UK airstrikes? And how likely are we to see the crisis improve any time soon? Read our analysis of the Houthi arsenal, their capabilities and intent, and the future of the Red Sea crisis now: https://hubs.ly/Q02rQ5b40 #RedSea #Maritime #Shipping #SecurityIndustry #SecurityProfessionals
